Tamara Sheridan LPC, RPT
Tamara is a Virginia State Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). She received her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Marymount University. Tamara has specialized training in play and expressive therapies and plans to become a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor. Tamara primarily works with children, adolescents and their families but also enjoys working with adults facing issues related to depression/anxiety, family stress, and parenting.
Counseling Experience
Tamara's counseling experience includes both inpatient and outpatient work providing individual, group, and family therapy to children and adolescents struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Prior to working in private practice, Tamara has experience working in residential youth facilities, private day treatment and day school settings and outpatient youth and family services. She has expertise working with children and adolescent facing issues such as depression or anxiety, self-esteem, hyperactivity/impulse control, anger management, social skills deficits, peer relationships, family stress, divorce/blended families and school refusal. Tamara has experience facilitating group therapy focusing on social skills, adolescent issues, children of divorce, and court ordered anger management.
