Sompa is a Virginia State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in Psychology and Spanish. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Sompa has a particular interest in working with children, adolescents and their families.

Counseling Experience

Sompa’s clinical experience includes working in both inpatient and outpatient mental health/substance abuse treatment settings. She has experience providing clinical assessments, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, case management and crisis intervention services to children, adolescents and their families who are dealing with emotional and behavioral issues. She has experience working with youth from various cultural backgrounds. Sompa has expertise and an interest in working with youth who are experiencing challenges related to mood disorders (such as depression and anxiety), peer relationships, self-esteem, family issues, social skills, anger and stress management. She values the importance of a child's support network as she works closely with their parents/guardians, pediatricians, school counselors, psychiatrists and other relevant providers.
