Megan Fiore PhD
Megan is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Virginia. She received her Master's in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York, University at Albany. Megan completed her doctoral studies at James Madison University, and her degree reflects training in both Clinical and School Psychology. Megan worked in other areas in Virginia and in New York before beginning practice in Northern Virginia. She provides treatment to children and families, adolescents and adults coping with issues of trauma and loss, depression, anxiety, and parent-child discord. Megan has extensive training in play and expressive therapies and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) following six years of play therapy experience.
Counseling Experience
Megan's counseling experience includes agency and residential care providing outpatient and inpatient therapy to adults, children, adolescents and their families. She has experience providing individual, group and family therapy to treat issues of trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, adjustment and loss. Megan has utilized play and expressive therapies to work with children who are coping with issues of sexual abuse, family violence, loss and bereavement. She has facilitated parenting support groups, psycho-education and process groups, groups for sexually abused children, groups for children in residential care, and social skills groups for young children. She has done extensive work with parents and children, focusing on strengthening the parent-child relationship.
