Erin Rapach MS
Erin E. Rapach is training to be a resident therapist in Marriage and Family Therapy. She completed her Master of Science in Human Development with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech University. Erin is an Associate Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and a member of the Virginia Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. Erin worked with military servicemen and their families and children in foster care before joining Creative Therapy Associates. She treats individuals, couples, children, and families who are experiencing PTSD, family separation, deployment readiness, poor self-esteem, stress and anger management, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, parent-child struggles, family and marital conflict, school truancy or childhood trauma.
Counseling Experience
Erin's experience includes outpatient counseling to individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and children, as well as in-home and outpatient counseling to children in the Virginia foster care system. Throughout her graduate training she has worked with clients experiencing a variety of issues including PTSD, anxiety, depression, separation, family and marital conflict, multiple deployments, poor self-esteem and childhood trauma in both the military setting and an outpatient setting. In Erin's work with adolescents and children in the foster care system, she addressed issues related to physical and sexual abuse and neglect, childhood trauma, school truancy, running away, crisis intervention, domestic violence and gang involvement. Erin also facilitated adolescent groups around self-esteem and social skills. She currently offers individual, couple, family, and child play therapy using a variety of therapeutic techniques. Erin's research background and clinical interests includes individuals experiencing a cancer diagnosis, the effect it has on the family system and the benefit of online cancer support for both the individual and the couple.
